Christian Family Movement (CFM)

What We Offer

Our activities encourage members to get involved in parish events and become aware of community issues. Our collective "doings" helps members grow in faith. CFM is a national network of small groups of Catholics, their families and neighbors that is active at the parish/neighborhood level. Parents meet regularly in one another's homes or at the parish. Using literature printed by expert authors at CFM headquarters and the dynamics of group interaction, Christian values are reinforced and families are encouraged to reach out in action to others. Some have called CFM the "Gateway to St. Stephens." We utilize the "observe/judge/act technique" [Jocist Method] first pioneered by Canon Joseph Cardijn, founder of the Young Christian Worker Movement in Belgium. Through the application of this method, many CFM families have become involved in St. Stephen's ministries such as Familia, and KofC, as well as helping others in ministries such as foster-parenting, prison ministry, refugee sponsorship, religious education and couple counseling. CFM helps us make lasting friendships, strengthens family life and helps couples stay married.
