Knights of Columbus

What We Offer

We are the world's largest Catholic lay men's organization dedicated to serving our pastor and parish. We are the strong right arm of the pastor. Our four principles are charity, unity, fraternity and patriotism. Through fundraisers (yard sale, parish events, etc.) we generate enough income to finance our programs. We provide manpower and talent in support of other St. Stephen parish ministries and to ensure success of events and spiritual activities. We also donate time and materials to help the needy families of the parish. Last year's 4300 man hours of volunteer effort addressed the full range of parish and community life. Moreover our members are the mainstay of many parish ministries. We provided the parish with a new floor cleaning machine, ice maker machine, oven racks for the parish kitchen and facilitated cleanout of the catacombs, kitchen and pantry. We award six to nine $500 scholarships to college bound Catholic students and serve about 1000 free breakfasts to Confirmandi students and their teachers.

One of our key missions is to promote community life consistent with the dictates of our faith. We do this by sponsoring seasonal social events and monthly parish breakfasts. Our annual Oktoberfest and other Dinner/Dances provide parishioners the opportunity to share a meal with their friends and neighbors, dance and have fun! We also sponsor a wedding vow renewal mass and reception and Veterans commemoration event. Our Columbian Squires Circle has engaged 30 of our young men in a program that builds character and religious consciousness. As part of the St. Stephen community we support the activities of other parish groups to implement their events. We raised $1500 for the St. Vincent de Paul Society's food pantry and donated clothing for distribution to the needy. Our two blood drives added over 80 pints of blood to St. Stephen's Blood Bank while our Tootsie Roll Campaign helped support a home for the mentally challenged.

We are inspired by the feeling of accomplishment when providing for the less fortunate and by the sharing of our collective talents to give back to the community.
