St. Stephen Guadalupanos

What We Offer

Motivated by our love of the poor and marginalized in society and a desire to promote unity and fellowship within and beyond our St. Stephen community. The Guadalupanos exist to assist the poor and needy and those with specialized needs. We host the annual Cinco de Mayo, New Years Eve, and our Lady of Guadalupe celebrations. Profits from these events, cash donations from individuals and groups, and proceeds from tamale and Mexican food sales after masses allow us to serve the needy. Over the past year, we distributed hundreds of pounds of beans and rice, fruit, vegetables, and clothing to the poor in Mexico, provided assistance to the Trinitarians of Mary convent in Tecate, MX., provided thanksgiving dinners to 25 needy families of Valley Center, distributed Christmas gifts to kids in Mexico, and sponsored men and women who could not afford to attend the St. Stephen men's and women's retreats. We have provided financial assistance to pay rent, utility bills and car payments to those who usually have regular incomes but found themselves temporarily out of work with no way to pay bills. We have paid for medical care for those without health insurance and provided transportation to and from the hospital and doctor. We support other groups and ministries within St. Stephen parish by offering financial support and sponsorships. We have assisted with repair costs to the church and general plant. Seeing the smiles and joy on the faces of the children of families we help is the source of our inspiration and our reward!
