A Thanksgiving Prayer

We thank you, God, our grace, for being alive, tomorrow and today, for this earth, for bread and light, for the people around us, today, yesterday and every day. We thank you for our lives here and now, lives laborious and full of joy. And may neither future nor death, separate us from Jesus Christ, who is your love for all mankind and all the earth.

We thank you, Lord God Almighty, for you are a God of men, for you are not ashamed to be called our God, for you know us all by name, for you hold the world in your hands. And that is why you have created us and for this purpose called us into life, that we should be all made one with you, to be your people here on earth.

Blessed are you, Creator of all that is, blessed are you for giving us a place of freedom and of life, blessed are you for the light of our eyes and for the air we breathe. We thank you for the whole of creation, for all the works of your hands, for all that you have done among us through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen
